Final O v e r f l o w with The Logic TheoristThis week, Sovereign State Productions is excited to have The Logic Theorist back with us for our final installment in Japone. The first set we listened to from The Logic Theorist "Collapsing People" was an intensely dark mix of IDM with a smattering of breaks that instantly had us hooked. The Logic Theorist samsung le32S81b unitystore has been with us numerous times, so we were quite excited to have him out for the last Overflow. Why the last? We're looking to regroup and expand our current lineup as well as move into a larger venue. We also have a rather large side project in the works for next summer which demands our immediate focus as well as another regular party coming in March. Both Japone and our loyal regular patrons have been fantastic these past few months and we'll be sad to see you go. We encourage other promoters in the DC area to embrace our philosophy of free music to help bring electronic dance music to everyone. As always, the night will begin with AO125 and Spiggy doing what they do best xbox 360 punked-gaming... Spiggy will be spinning a set of deep progressive and electro goodness. AO125 will be there as well with the house blend (no pun intended) of progressive house, and Electro-Retro-80's. Thanks again, everyone who has supported both us and our guest dj's!

The Sovereign State camp is gearing up to bring their second night of infectious grooves back to the Rubik Room at Cubik Friday, November 28th for the Thanksgiving edition of Cubik. Spent the day being good, eating with the family and enduring long boring tales of the early days from your Great-Uncle Jack? We've got a banquet of Electroclash, Retroclash, 80's and Synthpop to cram down your throat - so, at your Thanksgiving dinner, help yourself to that extra slice of pumpkin pie you know you shouldn't eat! Sovereign State will provide you with a night full of beats so you can dance it off!
10.30.03 :: O v e r f l o w with a Live/DJ set from Taro Alexander This week, Sovereign State Productions has a unique treat in store for patrons of Overflow. Joining us this week is DJ Taro Alexander spinning a set of downtempo mixed with deep and progressive house. But that's not all, with his sets he also plays a Japanese bamboo shakuhachi flute through an effects processor which adds a very organic feel to his set.

First off, A special thanks to BuzzLife, Nation, and all of the Cubik patrons from last Friday night. We had a great time and by the looks and sounds of the attendance and and feedback we've received we can tell that you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did! That said, if you like to see more of us, be sure to write BuzzLife and tell them how much you love us - because we love you too! This week, Sovereign State Productions invites you to one more week of pure-SSP dj's in Japone, before we kick things up a notch with the special guests we have lined up for the rest of October. The lounge's decor is a healthy mix of 60's sci-fi, retro modern, and marine life with a healthy handfull of some of the best sushi in the Washington DC area. Let your body buffer:overflow with food, friends, and a vibe that will keep you coming back. In much the same way as Burn, we will be showcasing local guest DJ talent every month, so at this time we will be taking submissions of demo material in the realm of IDM, Downtempo and Trip-Hop for our guest DJ spots. Please keep in mind that the atmosphere we are trying to create for this night is very chill when submitting. We're also excited to announce that next Friday, Sovereign State's own Empath and Spiggy will be spinning at Cubik, Buzzlife's new weekly event at Nation. Both DJ's will be spinning all night long in the Rubik room. Expect to hear a special set from both focusing on 80's, New Wave, Electro and Synthpop.
